X-Men 2: Clone Wars (Sega Genesis/Megadrive)

X-Men 2: Clone Wars was released in 1995 by Sega of America as a sequel to the 1993 X-Men for the Sega Genesis.
The plot involves an alien race known as the Phalanx which of course are trying to take over the world as we know it, and only the X-Men can save it from it' s doom. You have Beast, Gambit, Nightcrawler, Psylocke, Wolverine and Cyclops as playable characters (and later on Magneto after defeating him in the third level), the colors are beautiful and graphics are almost cartoon like. The animations are fairly detailed and the effects are relatively good for it's time.
As soon as you turn on the game you are not treated with any presentation or title screen, instead you are thrown into the first level with a random character (which you can change after completing the first level or after you die one life).
I found the controls in this game accurate and very responsive, usually the Sega controls can be slippery or delayed in many games found on this system.
The music is acceptable but nothing special except for a few really good tunes.
Difficulty is normal but as you progress through the game some stages can be a real pain to beat and the lack of continues will surely drive some people crazy.

In conclusion:
Overall this is a fun game to play and definitely worth checking out even if you are not a fan of the series.Replay value is 7/10, frustration level can be high in some parts of the game but can be overcome using these kick ass codes:
